Trilby Lawlor and Judy Cam have considerable experience as art educationalists.

Before setting up the Visual Learning Foundation both worked for many years as art advisory teachers and previous to that as heads of departments of art and design in inner London comprehensive schools. As advisory teachers they worked mostly with primary teachers and children.

They became increasingly interested and excited by the creative achievements possible when young children are given access to high quality art education.

These achievements are documented in the VLF archive. Their commitment to raising standards in art and design education for young children lead Trilby and Judy to establish the Visual Learning Foundation where they work to provide primary teachers with understanding and skills to be able to teach art and design well. They continue to teach art to children as a regular part of their working week.
